Castles and Mansions in Lublin: Kijany

Kijany is located about 20 km northeast of the city of Lublin. The manor is a neo-Renaissance building from the middle of the 19th century. Around 1880 Stanisław Sonnenberg extended the manor house at the back by an oval-shaped hall with a small gallery. After a fire in 1926, the manor was in ruins, but was rebuilt a short time later. In the 1970s, Kijany underwent another extensive reconstruction for the purpose of its use as an agricultural school. In the process, many historical elements were removed, including smooth plastering of the walls, replacement of the staircase, and even the former hall at the back presents itself today completely undecorated.
