In the archives of the Kurland knighthood Rudden appears for the first time in 1492, when the bishop of Pilten enfeoffed the family of Amboten with the estate. Over the centuries, the ownership of the manor changed frequently, until in 1819, after the marriage of the lieutenant Karl von Fircks with the then owner, Agnes von Sacken, it came into the possession of the Barons Fircks. From 1882 until the nationalization in 1921, Baron Paul von Manteuffel from the large Katzdangen estate, only 4 km away, was the owner. The estate undoubtedly reached its peak during the time of the Barons Fircks, who developed a lively building activity.

The manor house stands slightly elevated in the hilly terminal moraine landscape and offers a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape to both the east and west. Romantics can enjoy fantastic sunrises and sunsets. The park-like landscape has a high stock of strong deciduous trees, such as oaks, lime trees, elms and beeches. Furthermore, there are several ponds on the spacious property.

The simple manor house, built in the classicist style at the beginning of the 19th century, has retained the original ground plan and facade. The building has 7 axes and is two-story with a high hipped roof. As often built in the early 19th century, the ground floor is of low height and was reserved for the economic area. The belle étage, on the other hand, is spacious and has a corridor through the entire length of the house. The massive wooden beam ceilings are impressive and well preserved, or renewed. Most of the original doors and double doors have survived and the floors are also mostly the original floorboards. The same is true of the main staircase, which dates from the time of construction.

The house is in a good structural condition as far as the roof and the framework are concerned, but all the installations have to be renewed or made first. Electricity and service water are available. Sewage via a septic tank.
